Oil 9x7A switch from social commentary back to something more serene. Almost wish I had a bum passed out in the bushes to paint.. but then you wouldn't see him. I think this work at least delivers a sense of space and some groovy colors. Peace maN.

A good aerial perspective lesson and the colors are kickin'.
Nice change -shows range.
Thx guys! Not really my deal.. but it's good to paint pretty once in a while... Wait till you see my horse paintings...
If you've seen my comments on Bill Wray's blog, you know I love bridges and tunnels--the creepier, the better!
What I like about this one is that the side you were on when you painted it is shady (at least where the painting starts) because of all the foliage. On the other side of the tunnel, it looks very bright and cheery. Nice contrast.
Thanks Grimm.. Yeah.. glad you mentioned that. Wray and I painted this same scene at different times.. Jennifer also painted it. We all painted it. So if one digs around.. you'll find 3 differnet versions of this tunnel. Is that what I'm trying to say?
Bill.. That's looking familiar.
Nicely done.
Keewon.. you paint this view too? I would like to see your version if yes.
Late in the day I became a yellow-bellied click sucker, yesterday. The sense of accomplishment was underwhelming.
Nice, WIlliam. You do "pretty" well.
Ron for a minute I thought you wrote yellow bellied chick sucker... I usually have mine sunny-side up!
Michelle thx for the vote of confidence!
I really like the feeling of light in this one, particularly coming thru from under the bridge. I know this spot well and you caught it. This almost feels like a water color, but that can be a good thing. It worked for Seago and Chamberlain.
aaah yes, I remember painting this view with you..good times.
You've captured the light so well...such luminosity and warmth radiating out from the entryway.
I am also digging the loose, audacious juicy spots of color. Your drawing is solid man.
Beautious....
(Coffee Bean on the other side?) ;-)
Thx Will! This one came together after an initial botched attempt. Also took 2 swings to capture the other side of the tunnel on another day. The light on the far side of the tunnel worked out nicely and really draws the eye.
Hi Jennifer! Yes there is always a Coffee Bean on the other side... and at least 2 Starbucks. I was with you on this day.. yours wound up being selected for the Segil winter show. It's cool when the brush strokes and color come together in the end. More adventure on the horizon!
