The restaurant's fattened rat saw his evening's meal while peering beyond the shadow of cover. In the rear parking lot I made it over to Bucky Buick leaving a thin tattle tale trail of blood drizzled across the asphalt and back to the counter of death. For now all’s well - 53 bucks and a bag of cheddar flavored chips… I hate artificial cheddar flavoring .. really.

Encased in time worn habits no more, a molting pigeon disappears through ancient rafters as a tuxedoed, spats wearing business magnate smokes white powdered snuff off a Teflon tin plate. Parboiled skulls pop venomously from bottom eye slits squeaking past fleshy folds and empty tear duct reservoirs. Thick lashes hold them in place preventing further infection into night air. Snapping with rage old Raw Jaw retreats down ocular fissures searching for other ports of nocturnal call. Rogue angels supported by mannequined mercenaries quietly rejoice in their recent victory of containment and anxiously await further developments along the bower near the deceased poet’s gate.
